simple concept, powerful benefits

what is digital wellbeing?

Digital Wellbeing is the impact technology has on mental, physical and emotional wellbeing. The effect that technology and social media has on young people is concerning - from links with anxiety and depression to problems with connection, communication and physical health.

With Covid-19 impacting the way in which we study and work, remote learning, remote working and hybrid environments are much more common than before. Due to this, screen time is at an all-time high which can lead to a loss in productivity, sleep problems, anxiety and more… So it’s important to act now.

why digital wellbeing is important for students

Students are spending more and more time on their screens. Forward-thinking workplaces are supporting students with their digital well-being to support them to work healthily and productively.

the statistics...

Did you know that:

51% of students admit losing at least 1 hour of productivity a day due to technology distractions! Also, research suggests, students who spend over 2 hours a day on their phones, received lower scores on their exams.

You can lead the way by giving students the tools to develop a conscious and purposeful relationship with technology that can enhance their university experience, enable them to take care of their mental health and help them when the time comes to enter the workforce.

digital wellbeing solutions - what we offer companies

We don’t only support students, we support the wellbeing officers too. As we believe it is important for everyone to take a techtimeout! Employees' anxiety and stress levels can rise as a result of their reliance on technology. Employees who are burnt out are less likely to perform quality work and are more likely to experience declines in their mental and physical health. Focusing on digital well-being allows employees to reduce these risks.

Jordan Gale

“I have absolutely loved participating in the techtimeout10 challenge! As I have wanted to take more time off my phone and tune in with myself. I am amazed by how much it has improved my mental health and sleeping patterns and It is something I would recommend to everyone! Each day, for 10 days, I picked out activities that made me feel happy and motivated. I then selected a time length, however, sometimes I did go over the time length and that is completely fine! I think it is a great way that enables us to spend more time doing the things we love!”
