Top 10 Screen-Free Activities for techtimeout tuesday
09 Nov 2023

techtimeout tuesday is nearly here and we can’t wait!

On 28th November, businesses across the UK and beyond will be taking some time offline to raise awareness about digital wellbeing and enjoy the benefits of going screen-free for a bit.

There are already over 450 businesses signed up for this year’s event,  so we thought we’d help get you started by sharing our top 10 activity ideas for the day. Remember, it’s easy to take part. All you have to do is:

  • pick a time
  • pick an offline activity
  • take a techtimeout together

Top 10 Activity Ideas for techtimeout tuesday

1. Coffee and Cake Break

Take away the temptation and pop your phones into a techtimeout snug and enjoy an undistracted screen-free cuppa with your colleagues.

2. Wellbeing Walk

There’s no better way to take a techtimeout than experiencing the great outdoors. Organise a nature walk with your colleagues and experience the healthy benefits of truly switching off.

3. Lunch

Nowadays most lunch breaks are spent looking down at our phones. Why not break the habit on techtimeout tuesday and arrange a screen-free lunch for your colleagues - either at a local pub or buffet in the office?

4. Board Game Fun

There’s no better way to engage your brain and bond with colleagues than some good old-fashioned board game fun. Once you get started you’ll be surprised by how much people love it!

5. Kickabout or Group Yoga

Organise a kickabout with your colleagues or book a yoga or mindfulness teacher to deliver a class at work. Getting active is a great way to practice screen-free wellbeing.

6. Scavenger Hunt

Organising a local scavenger hunt is not only a lot of fun but is a great team building activity. The challenge? Finding things when you’re not allowed to use your phone - it’s a lot harder than you think!

7. Get Crafty

Doing arts and crafts is one of the best ways to switch off and get away from tech. Why not get crafty and book an art or pottery lesson for your team?

8. Team-Building Activity

techtimeout tuesday is the perfect opportunity for your team to take part in some serious team-building fun. Visit a local landmark, go kayaking, play paintball, go to a (screen-free!) escape room - anything that gets you away from tech and brings your team together.

9. Host a Quiz

Everybody loves a good old-fashioned quiz, so take some time offline and give your brain a workout by organising a quiz. Top tip - wine and cheese makes quizzes even better!

10. Choose Your Own Adventure!

The best thing about techtimeout tuesday is you can do any activity you want! Whether it’s a whole day of fun or a half hour break, as long as it’s 100% offline you’ll enjoy the benefits of going tech-free for a bit.
